We offer both full and partial dentures in Montebello, Whittier, and Pico Rivera
Full dentures are a great option if you’ve lost most of your natural teeth
Partial dentures are a convenient option for restoring one, two, or several missing teeth
Our dentists use the latest techniques and partner with reputable dental labs for custom dentures that look, feel, and function just like natural teeth
Partial dentures are intended to replace multiple missing teeth, and are a great option if you have lost some of your teeth, but your remaining teeth are healthy and strong.
They consist of a metal and plastic framework, which supports several false teeth. This framework uses metal clips to attach to your healthy teeth, which keeps your false teeth in place and restores your smile. Partial dentures are affordable, long-lasting, and a convenient way to get your smile back.
Full dentures are intended to replace all of the upper, lower, or both rows of teeth. They are made of a comfortable acrylic base, which is fitted to the contours of your gums, and is held in place by friction. This base supports a row of durable, natural-looking false teeth, which allow you to chew and eat normally after you’ve lost all of your teeth.
Full dentures are usually only recommended to people who have serious oral health issues that have resulted in the loss of most or all of their teeth. This is because all of your remaining natural teeth must be extracted before you can be fitted for a set of full dentures.
If you are getting full dentures, you will always need to have your remaining teeth extracted before you can be fitted for your dentures.
However, this is not true of partial dentures. If Dr. Winslow determines that one of your teeth is too damaged or unhealthy to be saved, you may need one or more extractions before your denture fitting. But if your teeth are healthy, you won’t need to have any additional teeth pulled before your treatment.
Whether you get full or partial dentures, the fitting process is the same. First, you’ll come to our office for an appointment with Dr. Winslow, and he’ll determine if dentures are right for you. If you’re approved, you’ll come in for your initial fitting in a few weeks. You may also need to schedule additional appointments for tooth extractions.
At your initial fitting, our dentist in Montebello will take impressions of your teeth and make a mold of your bite, and you’ll be sent home. These impressions will be used by a dental lab to make a set of wax dentures.
Once your initial test dentures arrive at our office, you’ll come in for a follow-up. Dr. Winslow will check the fit, ask how they feel, note his findings, and recommend any necessary adjustments. This process will be repeated multiple times.
After the fit of your denture is perfect, Dr. Winslow will order your final partial or full denture. Then, you’ll come back to our office for one last appointment to get your dentures, as well as instructions on how to care for and maintain your new smile. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to stop by our office located at 1900 W Whittier Blvd, Montebello, CA 90640.
